Yay, the elfquest 2008 fanart calendar is out finally!  This year it is going to be up in Cafepress, and the proceeds donated to Wolf Park in Indiana.

The theme this year is "Favorite Moments".  I'm December.

Linky

THey don't want us to post the pictures on our sites for a week...so the higher res version will be coming a bit later. Smiley

That's so ridiculously beautiful, Jere Cheesy Excellent painting. Only negative thing is that people have to wait 11 months to have it on their walls Wink

On my main monitor she looks really pretty....on my laptop monitor she looks anemic. I sure hope my main monitor is the more accurate one.   Hide

(wonders a little about the elves' eclectic styles) Handsome, dynamic....

...and she's going to run and pop herself right out of that top. I can see it happening. (grins)

I love the odd gloves. Fingerless on one side, fingered on the other; short on one side, long on the other. Obviously she's an archer (duh, it's Crescent) who holds the bow in the left, draws with the right. The fingers on the one side will protect from the bowstring, and the long glove on the other will protect from the snap-back of the string.  (although I never wore protection past mid-wrist, and never hurt myself)

Or she could just like the look. I don't remember what she wore in her few appearances. I'd have to go look.

I like the boots too. Wonder if they are true oddn's or she just lost the flap on the back one.

Or maybe she lost one of each of those in the "Sock-eating Wash Machine Monster".  Grin

Although, I don't think leather would do well in said monster.

I love coming here and seeing new stuff up.

I got lazy on her back boot.  Hide

And I love the washing machine theory.  But no, it's the old archer thing, as Breccia said. And my love for asymmetry in wolfrider outfits.  Nightfall, the other female archer, has a similar mismatched getup, except she actually wears little knuckle guards...awfully silly if you ask me.

And yes, she's gonna pop out. She's an elf. I mean, sheesh, remember Nightfall's first top?  Oh my...  I loved that impractically, silly thing.

That's all part of the Elf Magic ... spells like "Sticky Clothing" and "Mammary Antigravity" that threaten humans and make them covetous and spiteful and try to slay the poor little things ... that's why those humans hated the Elfquest elves so much, you know.  Too damn perfect.

/agree

Though have you see what a photorealistic elf looks like? Google Masha Tyena for a reminder. That big-eye-freaky-factor takes some getting used to...add big pointy ears to that, and I see an impulsive human going "Squish it, quick!"

Been diddling around with an old sketch of mine. I think it could turn into something very pretty, but I've run out of steam on it for the time being. Thought I'd share one part of it that wasn't still a complete mess:
